In our recent wellness posts, we have talked about small ways to support the nervous system, what it can mean when the body needs a little more support, and how listening to the body can be easier when the body feels supported.

This is one reason we appreciate BEMER, a wellness technology tool available in our office. Wholehearted Counseling is an Independent BEMER Partner, and we offer BEMER as part of our broader whole-person wellness resources.

Some wellness practices ask us to actively do something: breathe differently, move intentionally, stretch, pause, notice, or build a new habit.

Those practices matter.

BEMER is different because it offers a way to support the body while the person rests. It still requires consistency, but it does not require exertion. For many people, that makes it an accessible tool to explore as part of a broader whole-person wellness routine.

What BEMER is designed to support

BEMER is a wellness technology tool that uses low-intensity pulsed electromagnetic field technology. It is designed to stimulate healthy muscles and temporarily enhance local blood flow.

Circulation is one of the body’s foundational support systems. Blood flow helps carry oxygen and nutrients through the body and supports the body’s natural processes.

That is one reason we value BEMER. It focuses on supporting the body physically, in a way that is simple, non-invasive, and easy to receive.

Low effort does not mean one time

We sometimes think of BEMER as “lazy wellness,” but not because it is a shortcut.

It is low effort because clients can rest while using it. It does not require a workout, a long practice, or a complicated routine.

But like many wellness practices, BEMER works best with consistency. BEMER sessions are brief — only 8 minutes — and the recommended routine is twice daily. When that is not realistic, daily use is still more supportive than occasional use.

A single session can be a helpful introduction, but regular use gives the body more opportunity to respond over time.

How clients can use BEMER at Wholehearted

BEMER is available in our office for clients who would like to use it before or after appointments.

Using BEMER in the office gives clients a chance to experience the technology, notice how their body responds, and decide whether regular use may be something they want to explore further.

Some clients simply want to use it as part of their wellness routine when they are here. Others may eventually want to learn more about purchase options for home use. Either way, the focus is not on pressure or performance.

The focus is support.

One tool within a broader wellness routine

We do not see BEMER as separate from the rest of whole-person wellness.

It can sit alongside rest, movement, therapy, sleep, hydration, mindfulness, nutrition, and nervous system support. It is not meant to replace those things. It is one tool that may help support the body physically while the person continues building awareness of what their body needs.

That connection matters.

When the body feels physically supported, it may be easier to notice what helps us feel more grounded, more connected, and more present.

Safety and fit

BEMER may be broadly supportive for many people who are able to use it safely. As with any wellness technology, clients must review current safety guidance and contraindications before use.

Anyone with medical conditions, implanted devices, pregnancy-related concerns, or questions about whether BEMER is appropriate for them should talk with a qualified healthcare provider before using it.

Why we love it

At Wholehearted, we are interested in tools that support the connection between mind and body.

We love BEMER because it is simple to use, easy to receive, and focused on supporting the body’s circulation system. It gives clients another way to care for the body without asking them to push harder, perform better, or do more in the moment.

Sometimes wellness is active.

Sometimes wellness is quiet.

Sometimes support looks like giving the body a place to rest while it receives support.

If you are a current client and would like to learn more about using BEMER before or after an appointment, please reach out and ask us about availability.
